About the role

-attend the Early Years playgroups or programs

• Welcome families and children into the hall and encourage them to explore the activities and play areas.

• Connect and build positive relationships with the children and caregivers.

• Assist the Jindi team in-session, ensuring the activity areas are neat and appealing for children to play

• Help with manual handling tasks in setting up and packing up of the toys/activities before and after each session.

• Debrief with playgroup or program practitioner after the session

• Where appropriate, develop and facilitate a child’s activity or story time, with the guidance of the Jindi team.

• Attend / participate in any role-specific training requirements

• Collaborate with the team to create a positive team environment, free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.

• Perform all tasks in accordance with BSL health and safety requirements

The Jindi Family and Community Centre opened in February 2015 and is a partnership between Brotherhood of St. Laurence, the City of Whittlesea and Goodstart Early Learning.

 

We have a range of fun and engaging Early Years programs to help families build on their skills to support their child’s development and learning. Bookings are essential for all programs. Programs are facilitated by qualified Early Years Practitioners and are FREE to attend.

    • Depending on the role, you may need to complete a background check or provide references. We will guide you through this process.
  5. Training and Orientation:

    • Once accepted, you will be invited to attend a training session and orientation to familiarize yourself with our programs and policies.
  6. Start Volunteering:

    • After completing training, you will be assigned to your volunteer role and can begin making a positive impact in our community.
